October is Breast Cancer Awareness month!  So what better way to support this important month than to join a women-helping-women culinary fundraiser, Eat to the Beat, and be treated with tons of delectable Ontario culinary delights from 60 female chefs, each with their own food stations alongside a selection of fine wines and beer.  This event benefits the Wilow Breast Cancer Support non-profit organization that not only supports women in surviving breast cancer but also to thrive.

This event is rated as one of BizBash’s Top 15 events in Toronto for Food, Wine and Hospitality events!

Some of the chefs include:

  • Trish Sheen, Crush Wine Bar
  • Elizabeth Rivasplata, Art Gallery of Ontario
  • Donna Dooher, Mildred’s Temple Kitchen
  • Dufflet Rosenberg, Dufflet Pastries

We look forward to checking out the above-mentioned food stations but we expect to be pleasantly surprised when we get there by all the rest!  It will be quite a challenge to try to reach all 60 food stations in one evening.

Besides the wide variety of great food and drinks, another aspect that makes this event interesting is that breast cancer survivors will be modelling food-inspired corsets for the event.  Check out these pictures from last year’s Eat to the Beat!

The evening also includes live music, a silent auction and a raffle draw for great prizes including: a GE Monogram appliance Gift Card (retail value $5,000), a hand-crafted 18 karat yellow gold 22″ cable chain (retail value of $1,716), 11 piece cookware set (retail value $1,000), a 93″x106″ quilt by the Rouge Valley Quilter’s Guild (retail value $675)

Tickets are $150 (with a tax receipt) which includes all food and drinks.  Limited space available.  Ticket sales end at noon on Oct 16, 2012 .
