Set to the style and romance of the 1940s, Canada’s National Ballet School (NBS) held their annual fundraising gala with the goal of raising $850,000 towards the financial assistance of NBS’ Professional Ballet Program students.

NBS Gala Co-Chairs, Juanita Montalvo and Stephen Delaney explain: “NBS’ annual fundraiser is a wonderful and vital opportunity to gather the School’s greatest supporters and secure the financial support needed to ensure that NBS’ exceptionally talented students – of which 7 out of 10 require financial assistance – can continue to excel in their training and pursue their passion towards a career in professional dance.”

While gala tickets were $1,500, new to this year’s NBS gala were “35 and under” tickets for $100 which included a ‘Welcome’ Wine Reception, Ballet Performance, Casino and Lounge Access. I think it’s a really great idea and I hope more high-end galas do this to achieve their fundraising goals and to get younger members involved.

Watch NBS’ history of ballet instructor, Cheryl Belkin Epstein, describe the very thorough process students go through while training at Canada’s National Ballet School.

All the best success to the NBS for striving to ensure that no talented student is prevented from attending NBS due to financial circumstances.
