Centrally-located but tucked away just south of Yonge and King on Colborne Street, there’s the boutique Cosmopolitan Hotel. Inside just past the lobby where Eight Wine Bar used to be which is now the upscale Wildfire Steakhouse & Wine Bar with renovations making it a warm and inviting urban chic space. The venue offers options for corporate lunches, dinners, after-work drinks and intimate events.

Wildfire is owned by Jody Ness, acquiring the flagship location at Yonge and Lawrence in 2002.

The space has been renovated with thoughtful changes such the addition of the dining room enclosed in glass, opening up the back space to maximize the openness of the venue and the addition of the large wine collection in the centre.

DETAILS AND STEAKS
I asked Jody Ness what sets Wildfire apart from the competition and he said it’s the attention to details as they aim to position themselves to be one of the top steakhouses in Toronto.

Steak offerings on the menu include start from $30 for an 8 oz centre cut striploin and up to $56 for a rib steak. You can also get a rack of Wildfire back ribs for $34 and various combinations with a Cuban lobster tail.

Wildfire’s collection of wine at the flagship location has garnered ‘Wine Spectator’s Best of Award of Excellence’ for 9 consecutive years.

PRIVATE DINING
Private dining options include:

  • A dining room enclosed in glass that can seat up to twelve guests
  • A mezzanine on the second floor overlooking the main dining area can cater to private dining parties for up to sixteen guests

After work specials start at 4pm to 7pm featuring $7 wine, $7 martinis and $7 tapas.

Also, did you know that Wildfire owner, Jody Ness, hosts his TV show, Wine Portfolio from the flagship Wildfire location which debuted on CNBC.

I love wine but I also love beer. So as a beer lover, I approve of their selection of draught beer which includes Granville Island Pale Ale, Creemore Springs and two types of Krombacher.

Monday-Wednesday: 11:30am-10:00pm
Thursday-Friday: 11:30am-11:00pm
