Young professionals got together for the inaugural 2014 Waterball Cup golf tournament and Waterball party at the Arcadian organized by the new Sunnybrook Next Generation group in support of Sunnybrook Hospital.

The Waterball 2014 a great first effort by the Sunnybrook Next Generation committee. The food catered by Oliver & Bonacini was impeccable (as usual!), the DJ was great and the vibe was all about fun.

The silent auction items on display required bidding online through a system called Bidding Owl. It was an interesting choice but I talked to some guests who thought it should be more accessible with an offline option. I didn’t get a chance to try it myself but I’m sure it’s easy once you’re willing to go online.

It was impressive to see fine charitable philanthropists Albert Gasparro, Stefano Guizzetti & Jack Scivoletto of the G Group Development Corp., generously donate $500,000 as a leadership gift to support the Schulich Heart Centre.

Overall it was a great success for the inaugural Waterball and Waterball Cup raising $230,000 to benefit the patients at Sunnybrook’s Schulich Heart Centre.
