The launch of Veuve Clicquot RICH at the Island Yacht Club

A new champagne, Veuve Clicquot RICH aims to represent the fun, energetic and sociable side of life. Not only can you enjoy the champagne on its own, but it was also created with cocktails in mind – a sweeter champagne hence the name, ‘rich’, that mixes well with many ingredients. It boasts being the first of it’s kind in North America, a champagne dedicated to mixology.

The blend is 45% of Veuve Clicquot’s signature Pinot Noir along with 40% Pinot Meunier, and 15% Chardonnay. The results have citrus and floral notes reminiscent of summer time.

On June 10th, we were part of an exclusive event to launch Veuve Clicquot RICH at the Island Yacht Club.

We had the opportunity to try a hands-on demonstration to customize our own cocktails at the event.

We saw first hand how RICH is truly a versatile champagne that can be mixed with tea, fruits and vegetables adding a memorable taste to the palette.

Place 5 ice cubes in a large wine glass
Add one ingredient
Finish with chilled Veuve Cliquot Rich

What’s that one ingredient? Veuve Clicquot has recommended 6 ingredients to enhance different characteristics of the champagne. Pineapple, grapefruit, celery, pepper, cucumber, or even tea.

Veronique Gonneville, the Brand Manager, was there on hand as well as one of Toronto’s most prominent mixologists, Nishan Nepulangoda, doing what he does best.

The pouring rain let up just in time to start the event. The vibe was fun, relaxed and sociable with hammocks and luxury Veuve Clicquot pillows included among the backdrop of sailing yachts. A giant Jenga game bringing a fun atmosphere to the evening echoing the message of Veuve Clicquot RICH to have “a fun twist on life”. Did I mention the bottle also glows in the dark?

Owner of the Toronto Island Yacht Club, Ron Telpner, was there on hand to show us the gorgeous space, great for entertaining guests.
