On Saturday November 7th at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, the Mon Sheong Foundation held their 24th annual Cathay Ball charity gala. This year the Cathay Ball immersed guests in an enchanting evening in Barcelona.
Guests were entertained by soprano soloist, Jennifer Taverner and by the Esmeralda Enrique Spanish Dance Company which performed traditional flamenco dances. Close to 1,000 guests which included dignitaries from Canada and China came together to dine and raise funds for the Mon Sheong Foundation which included a silent auction and special raffle prizes.
The Mon Sheong foundation is the largest Chinese charity in Canada with 50 years of contributions to the community. Over 200 volunteers helped make the evening a success and proceeds from that night will go towards long-term care facilities, senior and youth initiatives.
