An intimate gathering at Yorkdale Shopping Centre’s Bulgari boutique took place on May 17th, to launch “The Brain Project”; a beautifully anticipated project to raise awareness and initiate an important discussion on brain health through art.

From a very passionate and dedicated year in the making, this project’s co-chairs, Jessica and Ben Mulroney & Erica and Noah Godfrey, were eager to bring attention to cognitive health, and to begin this important dialogue. Suits star Sarah Rafferty was the special guest.

During Tuesday’s event, the second brain sculpture was revealed, with Montreal-based artist Pascale Girardin’s spectacular “Illumination/Illuminazione”; made entirely of beautifully handcrafted ceramic elements.

This, along with over 100 other incredible brain sculpture installations, by designers, artists & architects alike, will be on public display throughout downtown Toronto this summer. All proceeds, from the to-be auctioned-off sculptures, will go to Baycrest Health Sciences Centre; a global leader in geriatrics focusing strongly on brain health and aging, and one of the top research institutes in cognitive neuroscience.

You can see all the brain sculptures on public display, within this city-wide art installation, beginning in early June of this year.
