A secret location; elegance in white; a 29 year old tradition; soiree outdoors – It was an exciting and glamorous evening among good friends and also new acquaintances against the backdrop of Toronto’s beautiful skyline.

In anticipation for the TASTE Community Grown event at Crystal Palace on September 24th 2016, we received a preview of some of the most delectable food and drink in Prince Edward County.  TASTE is considered one of “Ontario’s Top 100 festivals”.  The annual culinary event is a showcase of wines, beers, ciders, and delicious food from the surrounding area. PEC is located in Southern Ontario on a large irregular headland at the eastern end of Lake Ontario; from Toronto, it…

It was rather surreal to be sitting down for lunch with an influential figure in Toronto’s culinary scene– but it happened. If anything, it just reinforces the notion that the person we sat down with — Chef Mark McEwan — is a very down-to- earth individual.

It’s been 8 months since their launch of Chef & Somm – a private chef service, and Chef Eyal Liebman and Sommelier Rebecca Meir-Liebman invited us to experience their 6 course wine and dine pairings at the Wine Cellar of Spiga Ristorante (1378 Yonge Street). For the evening, the duo provided a spectacular bespoke dining where the chef prepared dishes onsite using the kitchen – as opposed to semi-prepared catering – with the sommelier’s story sharing that ties into their…

Coco Lezzone

The Italian restaurant, Coco Lezzone, located in the Yorkville district (137 Avenue Road), provided us the ultimate 4-course pairing dining experience on Tuesday November 17th. This event was hosted by the 360 Gourmet Club, a new pop-up event service that gives diners a taste of a chef’s creations, a guide-through of each course, as well as take-home recipes and specialty ingredients. Chef Marlon Graham and master mixologist/TV host, Jeremy Parsons, took us through the first interactive dining experience.

It’s not everyday you get to have dinner with a sixth-generation Spanish Vintner as renowned as Bodegas Osborne, but as unlikely as it seems, here I am graced with Rocio Osborne’s presence. Despite the fact that she’s the brand ambassador of her namesake wine, she’s supremely humble and friendly. In fact, she’s floating around like a gracious host and ensuring we’re having a lovely evening. And how could we not: Spanish wines are flowing and so too is the phenomenal…
