On Friday August 28th, we took a trip out to Niagara on the Lake to take advantage of a beautiful summer day while enjoying gourmet street food by Chef Adam Hynam-Smith, hosted by everyone’s favourite Suresh Doss, food truck event organizer extraordinaire.

Enter Air Canada, whose partnership with revered Chef David Hawksworth of Vancouver’s Hawksworth Restaurant, sought to create a quintessentially Canadian menu for its International Business Class and Maple Leaf Lounges.

Sometimes we become complacent and forget how culturally rich, invigorating and active Toronto truly is. It’s incredibly refreshing and inspirational to be reminded of the hidden gems that may be right around the corner from your home or office. The best way to find out, is to see your community from the eyes of a newcomer or tourist, who’s more likely to wonder, explore and try new things.

I was lucky to be able to be part of a day trip out to Oro-Medonte between Barrie and Orillia. I know that by itself doesn’t sound too exciting but it’s now set to become the premier location one of the hottest and newest renovated event grounds called Burl’s Creek.

Niagara-on-the-Lake holds a special place in many hearts and minds alike. Located at the western end of Lake Ontario, it was one of the earliest regions for settlement– due in part to the War of 1812. There are many key sites which helped establish Canada as unique and separate entity from the United states– who at the time– wanted to absorb the fledgling colonies. Today, you can visit the many historic sites that played an integral part in championing Canada…
