The 26th annual Cathay Ball, a charity gala in support of the Mon Sheong Foundation was held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on Saturday November 4th. This year’s theme ‘Under the Northern Lights’ had stunning performances that accompanied the night’s affairs, echoing the sentiments of Canadian’s beauty and aspirations for the future as Canada continues its Canada 150 celebrations. Twenty luck recipients received a commemorative Canada 150 silver coin produced by the Royal Canadian Mint.


On Thursday, November 12, Air Canada‘s enRoute Magazine held a gala at The Ritz Carlton hotel in Toronto to celebrate this year’s top 10 best new restaurants in Canada. Guests met the chefs and sample some of their dishes, giving them a taste of why they made this year’s list.

Enter Air Canada, whose partnership with revered Chef David Hawksworth of Vancouver’s Hawksworth Restaurant, sought to create a quintessentially Canadian menu for its International Business Class and Maple Leaf Lounges.


On November 20, I was fortunate to attend the food lover’s dream event – Air Canada‘s enRoute magazine‘s announcement of Canada’s best new restaurants for 2014. This gala brought together restaurants from coast to coast to the Gardiner Museum, where guests met the chefs and sampled some of their restaurant’s signature dishes.


Film festival fans can rejoice! Take note of the free public screenings of the annual (and proudly Canadian) enRoute Film Festival. A free public screening of the nominated short films will take place on Wednesday, November 6 at the Varsity Cinema (55 Bloor St. W., Toronto) from 7 to 8 p.m. ET.
