Now that we’re deep in the hazy days of summer, there has been time to reflect upon the first half of the year in Toronto – in particular, on the city’s lively social scene. Between functions that fell flat, over-the-top galas that won’t be forgotten and fundraisers that generated important dollars, some events stood out from the rest.

On Thursday, May 31, the spring showers cleared just in time for Power Ball, hands down one of the best (and most Instagram-worthy) events in Toronto year after year.

We told you it was going to be the party of the season (we also told you not to book any morning meetings the next day, so hopefully that worked out for you).

In all of its visually stimulating, alternate reality-filled glory, Power Ball XIX: Stereo Vision presented by Max Mara definitely didn’t disappoint.

Guests gave in to their guilty pleasures at Power Ball XVIII: Pleasure Principle on Thursday, June 2nd at The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery with an explosion of art installations, performances, cocktails and culinary delights.
