Paint Cabin, a rustic-themed art studio with a cafe and fully-licensed bar, has become the newest hip hangout spot for those who want to feed both their creativity and their stomachs at the same time. Their cafe features housemade espresso – cafe mocha and chai latte to name a few – and a large variety of pastries from local bakeries such as Wanda’s Pie in the Sky and Earth & City.

Chocolate banana cake and Dulce de Leche Macaroons were some favourites for the night! In addition, one can fancy a glass of wine or a local craft beer (ie. Beau’s All Natural Brewing Co.) at the bar to amp up artistic inspiration. Food can be catered upon request as well!

Cafe & Licensed Bar

From the words of Paint Cabin’s founder Gord Wong, “Cafe by day, art studio by night”, Paint Cabin boasts a cozy atmosphere that challenges everyone, whether a budding hobbyist or professional artist, to bring out their hidden artistic ability.

Workshops conducted by experienced art instructors will introduce 5 different types of artistic media to choose from including watercolour, acrylic paint, mixed media, sketching, and woodcut. The participants of this past “The World as We Know It” watercolour workshop enjoyed a laid-back evening of painting, social drinking, and scrumptious snacks. Everyone produced their very own one-of-a-kind masterpiece to take home!

In a day and age in which social media floods our lives, it’s no surprise that paint studios have been on the up and up in Toronto, giving people the chance to explore different art media and unwind from technological clutter. Paint Cabin provides a versatile and accessible environment for guests to come work on solo art projects while enjoying a coffee, hold social events such as bachelorette parties, or maybe just to drink some wine and socialize over – none other than – paint!
