On November 22, 2025, the Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites lit up with culture, community, and generosity at the Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation’s Fortune Ball.

The gala, led by the Fortune Leadership Council (FLC) — Alan Kwong, David Ho, Gordon Chan, Stephen Li, and Kenny Wan — has raised an incredible $5.2 million to date for Oak Valley Health’s Markham Stouffville Hospital. This year’s focus: funding equipment for the Emergency Department to meet the urgent needs of a growing community.

Guests enjoyed a vibrant program hosted by Jennifer Hsiung of CP24 Breakfast, with standout performances from Master Guo-Xuan Ruan’s Chinese Orchestra, Sandy Sun and Sun Ling School of Dance, and the George St. Kitts Band, who had the ballroom dancing late into the night.

Notable attendees included Mayor Frank Scarpitti of Markham and Mayor Iain Lovatt of Whitchurch-Stouffville, both showing strong support for the hospital and its mission.

The evening was a reminder of the proverb shared by Co-Chair David Ho: “If you always give, you always have.” With community generosity, MSH continues to deliver exceptional care close to home.
