Over 500 supporters of Save a Child’s Heart Foundation of Canada flocked to the Drake Hotel for the sold-out annual Heart & Soul UnGala. This event had an unfettered casual vibe, yet served a noble purpose: over $530,000 was raised to provide free life-saving heart surgery for children from developing countries worldwide. Not only does the Israeli-based foundation mend broken hearts (literally), it is also committed to training local medical personnel from developing nations to become self-sufficient. Soulful live performances by Low Overhead and Slice of Life set a vibrant tone for the evening as guests sampled delicious food creations by Chef Ted Corrado. Befitting to the event, Royal de Versailles donated a beautiful heart shaped diamond necklace worth over $9,000. All in all, it was a magnificent event for a much worthy cause.
