On September 19, 2013 iYellow hosted the Port Party at the Thompson Hotel featuring Taylor Fladgate ports matched with different food pairings. The night was perfect, with its clear skies and full moon overlooking the Toronto skyline from one of Toronto’s best rooftops.
The night featured various ports including the 10, 20, 30 and 40 year-olds tawny, while paired with sweet and savoury appetizers. The 10 Year Old Tawny Port was sweet with dried cherry flavours. The 30 year-old port superb, with its complex flavours of dried fruit, toffee and chocolate. The 40 year-old port was exceptional with its buttery smooth texture and intense flavours, paired with foie gras canapé.
There were port-based cocktails such as the Chip Dry Mojito and the LBV Portini. The mojito uses Taylor Fladgate’s Chip Dry White port instead of rum and mixed it with lime, mint and soda drink.
