It’s no surprise that the Motionball Toronto Gala is one of our favorite Charity events in the city’s vibrant social scene. There’s a certain sense of grandeur and elegance that the organization has been able to consistently deliver year after year. Old Hollywood glamour was 2017’s theme and with the Historical Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex as the stage, flowing red carpets, and endless flowing libations, it’s difficult for attendees to not feel like a star.

Motionball aims to connect the next generation of donors and volunteers to the Special Olympics movement through thoughtful integration of social and sporting events that are both exciting and meaningful. On Friday, February 3rd, 14 live acts, including Canadian super-star Karl Wolf who debuted his newest single, “Wherever You Go,” entertained a sold-out crowd of over 2,400 guests. Signature features of the gala are it’s impress array of items for auction, unique experiences offered, and an opportunity to meet and mingle with some of the country’s elite athletes. Surprises were abound throughout the night and there was even a station where guests could have their faces etched on some delicious macarons. It’s notable to mention that this massive bash raised over $250,000 through guests and sponsors where 100% of the proceeds directly benefits the Special Olympics Canada Foundation with a net donation of $7,500,000 to date. The fun in giving has never felt or looked this good.
