The 37th Dragon Ball, presented by the Yee Hong Community Wellness Foundation, took over the Automotive Building at Exhibition Place this past Saturday. Coinciding with Valentine’s Day, the gala brought together over a thousand philanthropists and community leaders to celebrate the Lunar New Year while supporting senior care in Toronto.
As one of the city’s most anticipated charity events, the night was a sold-out success. Proceeds from this year’s gala are dedicated to the construction of the Yee Hong Ng Siu Chan Centre, a new long-term care facility slated to welcome its first residents this fall.

An Immersive Cultural Experience

The evening featured a stunning central stage and LED displays that provided an immersive view of the performances. Highlights included:
- A high-energy modern dragon and “Qilin” dance by Wushu Project.
- The “Galloping Toward Triumph” folk dance by the Chinese Collective Arts Association.
- Vocal performances by the Hong Kong a cappella group Brio and award-winning Canadian singer Carla Sacco.
Culinary Delights
Guests enjoyed a refined menu curated by Culinary Ambassador Chef Trevor Lui of Highbell Hospitality. The reception featured diverse offerings from local favorites like Gushi Japanese Street Food and Kumain Kitchen, followed by a festive four-course dinner and a unique “Wasabi” ice cream dessert from One Shot Ice Cream.
Giving Back
The gala also honored the Golden Achievement Award recipients: David Maung, Kenny Wan, and Steven Sun, for their longstanding dedication to the Yee Hong Foundation. Over its 37-year history, the Dragon Ball has raised more than $30 million for the community.
Note: For those who missed out on the live auction, the 2026 Dragon Raffle will launch later this year with a brand-new Audi A3 Sedan as the grand prize.
