Montecito opened its doors late last summer, and this winter Montecito has launched a new brunch experience as part of their new weekly programming. Last Sunday, we had the chance to check it out. For only $35, you too can try the new brunch buffet at Montecito, and this is no ordinary buffet.

There are items made to order like pancakes – the plain and chocolate chip kinds. You can also have omelettes prepared on the spot with gourmet ingredients like pork belly. Once done, they are brought to your table. There are also a variety of warm proteins like roast beef, bacon, and meatballs. There was even fried chicken, which was perfectly crispy and surprised with a bit of spiciness, which I liked. For sides, there was mac & cheese, chicken fried rice, and beautifully roasted potatoes. For those wanting salads, you have numerous options like the endive and cobb salads, and a favourite of ours at Montecito – the kale salad.

For those preferring a continental breakfast, there was a board of cheese and charcuterie meats, a yogurt parfait, and lots of fresh fruit. Baked goods included cookies, muffins, scones, and brioche. Finally, to top off your meal, you can have desserts like apple crumble, tiramisu, and my two personal favourites of the brunch – the salted caramel budino, and the sea buckthorn jelly panacotta. To complete your breakfast experience, you can add coffees, juices, or teas, but if you want to go more luxurious you can opt for champagne, or a Caesar made to your liking.
