TSO Music Director, Peter Oundijan

The Toronto Symphony Orchestra’s 2015 season opening gala was held on September 24th, 2015. It was an elegant evening to kick off the 2015/2016 season, the TSO’s signature fundraising event. First it started with a VIP welcome reception at Roy Thompson Hall followed by a performance by violinist Pinchas Zukerman accompanied by Peter Oundijan and the TSO.

Pieces performed at the TSO Opening at Roy Thompson included the following:

  • Dukas: The Sorcerer’s Apprentice
  • Greig: Suite No 1. from Peer Gynt
  • Bruch: Violin Concerto No. 1

Then guests went across the street for an exquisite gala dinner at the Ritz Carlton.

Besides a great dinner there was also a flash mob performance. And it wouldn’t be a fundraising gala without an auction. The online auction included many great top-notch items including trips to Turks and Caicos, San Francisco and NYC.

Congrats to the TSO for raising $500,000 at the fundraising gala!
