On the week of October 21st, Lincoln took over Toronto’s foodie scene offering special cocktails and fine dining menus at a few of Toronto’s high-end restaurants in exchange for a test drive of the new 2014 Lincoln MKZ. The restaurants included Bymark, Sassafraz, Boehmer and then ended with a pop-up dinner with Chef Matt Kantor at 99 Sudbury.

So the Best of Toronto team and myself had a table at Mark McEwan’s Bymark for a top-notch 3-course dinner with special cocktails to commemorate the Lincoln MKZ experience. It was a rainy night but the umbrella-equipped valet crew were out and fleet of Lincolns were ready to give us the intimate and interactive experience from inside the luxurious MKZ sedan. The first things you notice when you get in the car are the large touch-screen display in the centre console and the large sunroof spanning the front and back seats. During the quiet, smooth and responsive ride the Lincoln representative points out that the colour of the interior lights can be personalized according to one’s tastes. A nice touch for sure. Bringing the vehicle back to Bymark for parallel parking, we got to see the Active Park Assist in action with the rear-view camera. You simply press a button and the vehicle takes care of the rest including measurements while you can control the braking.

Returning from our test drive back to Bymark restaurant: the service, cocktails, food and overall dining experience were all impeccable on all fronts. The striploin was highly memorable and the deconstructed brownie aka Rocky Road was delectable. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to savour the city and experience the reinvented Lincoln brand.
