The Collections and Robin Kay reveal mentorship "Made in Canada"

Monday, March 9th marked an important announcement for pre World MasterCard Fashion Week news.

President of The Fashion Design Council of Canada, Robin Kay, will be mentoring the creative firm, The Collections in aspects of design management, production and event services.

Based out of their new spacious, modern studio at 545 King St. W, The Collections has been working with fashion designers for 9 seasons to help designers build their line’s strength in the industry and take them to the next level in their careers, including award-winning Sid Neigum.

Klaxon Howl, Triarchy, Mikael D, Malorie Urbanovitch, 111 by Parloque and Helder Diego were the six announced, and each presented one look from their Fall/Winter 2015 collections to debut at WMCFW F/W15.

“The importance and value of individual designers to Canada’s fashion design industry has never been more clear to me,” said Robin. “I want to inspire more “Made in Canada”, just as I’ve been inspired throughout my career by what it means to be part of this amazing industry. It’s about people, places, and stories. And through ongoing collaboration and dialogue I want to firmly anchor fashion design as a pillar of culture and commerce in Canada for years to come.”
