The Civic Holiday long weekend in August is reserved for many things: hitting up the cottage or some patio weather, enjoying a relaxing Game of Thrones marathon, catching up with friends and family or simply just catching up on sleep. For others, the highlight is VELD, boasting to be Canada’s largest electronic music festival.

Now in its 3rd year, VELD returns to Downsview Park for two days (August 2-3) of auditory bliss and mayhem. Happening rain or shine, the festival will be headlined by some of the biggest names in EDM today such as Calvin Harris, Armin Van Buuren, Sabastian Ingrosso (of Swedish House Mafia fame), Zedd, Nero, and (Montreal’s very own) Adventure Club to name a few.

It’s good to see Bingo Players in the lineup considering Paul Baumer, from the popular duo recently died from cancer in December 2013. Now surviving member, Maarten Hoogstraten, continues on as a solo act as per Baumer’s wishes. Catch them on Saturday at the VELD Stage.

Another interesting act to watch will be Australian hip hip sensation, Iggy Azalea and maybe even the “Turn Up God”, Waka Flocka Flame.

Check out the official VELD 2013 “After Movie” to see why it’s a musical event of epic proportions not to be missed.

Here’s the full VELD 2014 lineup and schedule spanning 11am-11pm on both Saturday August 1st and Sunday August 2nd. For more info including wristband purchases visit www.veldmusicfestival.com. Note that VELD only sells two day wristbands.
