Outside at the Amex VIP Lounge at the Molson Ampitheatre

At Best of Toronto, we talk a lot about “Experiencing Toronto Better” (and maybe sometimes do). So what does that mean?

I think it can mean a lot of things including discovering great dining, restaurants, shopping opportunities and, of course, attending some of the best events in Toronto with your friends. Knowing about and attending a top event or concert is great but it gets even better with American Express cardmember privileges, making your routine purchases even better.

Great, so where do you start?

Keeping in the know with Best of Toronto is one way to get started including our Upcoming Events page featuring special upcoming events as well as a schedule of curated events shown in our regularly-updated upcoming events calendar.

Another way we recently discovered is with the American Express Invites, which updates weekly with entertainment and dining offers available to Amex Cardmembers. There were so many perks I wasn’t fully aware of and since we’re all about having the best experiences we wanted to share with you a few Amex perks that are a must-know to make the rest of this year a memorable one.

Take this situation for example, have you ever found out too late that your favourite artist is coming to town and the tickets were sold out before you had the opportunity to get them for yourself? A situation like this is where American Express Invites can help. Cardmembers can explore the many entertainment benefits that Amex offers like Front Of The Line Advanced Access, Front Of The Line reserved tickets and Delights Special Offers and Experiences. And by signing up to receive Front Of The Line entertainment e-Updates, you’ll never miss out on an upcoming presale again! I have other Cards and tried out their similar benefits but they don’t seem as relevant, as frequent and as available compared to Amex benefits. And it’s no wonder, since Amex has been providing Cardmembers with amazing access to experiences with their partnerships with LiveNation, Mirvish and Massey Hall for over 25 years.

Don’t believe us? Here’s my #AmexLife experience, experienced firsthand with friends at the recent Nicki Minaj concert and Kevin Hart.

I’m very particular about lineups so Amex priority entry and washrooms are greatly welcome.

Upon arriving at Molson Ampitheatre we headed straight to the large Amex lounge featuring an indoor bar and lounge area as well as an outdoor also a outdoor dockside with a great view over the water (pictured above).

Here’s my friend Tyler taking in the scenic outdoor section of the lounge at Molson Ampitheatre…. and looking good doing it!

Not having to worry about a thing, we also got to have some gourmet barbecue to get ready before the show. It was our lucky night because Barque Smokehouse was on-site in the Amex lounge offering delicious food. Amazing selections included smoked chicken, fish tacos, fresh grilled corn and plenty of racks of ribs.

The lounge also had plenty of complimentary fruit infused water including lemon and also strawberry. It was a perfectly refreshing drink for a hot summer evening dancing to Nicki Minaj! Great attention to details found in the lounge.

Also it was pretty great to be hanging out with cool people including Lauren Toyota and Lainey Gossip who were there at the show as well.

By staying in the loop with www.AmexInvites.ca and taking advantage of Front Of The Line presales, Best of Toronto was able to see Kevin Hart in a back to back Amex Access filled week!

Here is my friend Erin and I taking a selfie before we headed in to the Kevin Hart show at the Air Canada Centre for his “What Now?” comedy tour.

It’s quite impressive that Kevin Hart sold out 3 consecutive shows in Toronto. I’m sure you’ve heard he puts on a great show and that he did. He had us laughing with tears in our eyes.
