We called it the best annual event of 2014.  With all floors of the TIFF Bell Lightbox open for the annual TIFF fundraising party, the multi-sensory fun factor, BOOMBOX is always top notch bringing the magic of film to life.

On November 5th, 2015 with the theme, “Everyone will be famous for 15 seconds”, BOOMBOX 2015 officially kicked off with the latest major TIFF exhibition celebrating the work of Andy Warhol on the silver screen and his fascination with social status.

At BOOMBOX, Director X unveiled his Andy Warhol influenced installation of the same name.

Similar to last year’s Kubrick-themed BOOMBOX (with a special “Eyes Wide Shut” inspired performance), there was a special event-inside an event choreographed by Kaitlyn Regehr. Cameras aren’t allowed inside this special private performance, but I can tell you that Regehr’s radical installation was a roaming performance piece infusing “fine” art with “low” art with go-go dancers.

Guests danced the night away to the tunes from Starting from Scratch with emcee Kardinal Offishall. To end the night there was plenty of Pizza Pizza to end another amazing BOOMBOX event.

The Andy Warhol exhibition is now open at the TIFF Bell Lightbox from October 30th to January 24th, 2016.

BOOMBOX is an annual fundraising event in support of TIFF. Proceeds enable TIFF to continue its work in film-based education & outreach, film preservation, artist experimentation and filmmaker development. Find more information below on how you can help TIFF bring the power of film to life.
