Launched in 2015, Hope for Hearts is an annual fundraiser in support of Heart Research performed in the Echocardiography Laboratory at the Hospital for Sick Children.
You are invited to the 2016 Hope for Hearts Gala to give children like Elijah and his family precious moments. With performances, testimonials, auctions, prizes and more, it will be a memorable evening for an incredible cause.
Taking place at The Granite Club at 2350 Bayview Avenue, the Hope for Hearts Gala starts with a cocktail reception at 7:00pm followed by dinner at 8:00pm.
$250 for Gala Dinner Tickets
Including dinner and 3 drink tickets. During dinner there will be a silent auction, live auction, performance by Alessandra Paonessa, fashion show Winsdesign and access to the after party.
$50 for After Party
Starts at 11pm and includes access to the members-only Granite Club, a drink ticket with music and a DJ.
Each year 1 out of every 100 babies born has a heart defect and more than half need surgery to survive. The cause goes to treat congenital heart disease where it is estimated that around 91,000 children and 170,000 adults with congenital heart disease live in Canada such as Elijah.
“You would be hard pressed to find anyone as happy (or as busy) as this little boy,” says Elijah’s mom. ” It’s hard to believe that he underwent his first heart surgery before he was even born. It’s harder to believe that he had 3 open heart surgeries and several catheterization procedures before his first birthday.
“The sky is the limit for Elijah thanks to the staff at Sick Kids. He may be one in one hundred statistically, but his is one in a million to us.”’
The Hope for Hearts “Make a Moment Happen” mantra highlights the importance of moments like a birthday celebration, or graduation days that represent the real essence of a family’s life.
