You’re probably familiar with the Oscar award-winning movie, Argo, directed by and starring Ben Affleck. But to get at the heart of the story you must check out the critically-acclaimed Canadian version entitled “Our Man in Tehran”. It’s a documentary featured at this year’s TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) focusing more on the hard facts and the risks involved of the Iranian hostage crisis of 1979. The film interviews our own Canadian hero, Ken Taylor (aka the “Canadian Caper”), then Canadian ambassador to Iran who took the risk to shelter six Americans and helped them leave the country safely.

Directed by Larry Weinstein and former Toronto Blue Jays baseball player, Drew Taylor, in his directorial debut this is a film celebrating Canadian spirit.
