The dinner setting

I got the chance to attend an intimate cocktail reception and gourmet dining experience hosted by Samsung Canada. We learned about the latest and greatest in home appliance innovations in the new top-of-the-line Samsung Chef Collection at a spacious pop-up showroom near King St and Church St on June 19, 2014.

Following the cocktail reception, we were seated on a long, beautifully decorated communal dining table for a 3 course dinner with Executive Chef Dwayne Kearney.

A few of my favourite Samsung innovations we heard while we dined:

  • It takes 3 hours to convert the bottom-right freezer area into extra refrigeration space. It’s called the “Fridge-in-Freezer” giving you the ability to select temperatures from 1°F to 41°F.
  • The refrigerator has a built-in SodaStream dispenser – perfect for fresh sparkling water when you need it!
  • A oven-safe and dishwasher-safe chef’s rack can be taken from the fridge to the oven to the dishwasher.
  • The oven can be converted into a dual oven by inserting a metal sheet so you can cook 2 different dishes at 2 different temperatures (aka the “Flex Duo” feature)

I was pleasantly surprised to see my interior designer friend, Sia Mahdieh, get up and discuss the latest trends in luxury interior design integrating Samsung Chef collection appliances.
