Last month we were lucky to have the opportunity to support another great edition of Rally for Kids in support of kids with cancer raising almost $1 million for the the SickKids Foundation in Toronto.

On September 18th, the first night of the two-day Rally for Kids in Toronto, started off with a “draft party” at Muzik night club where guests raise funds to select celebrities to race around town with.

Celebrities this year included Billy Baldwin, Kim Coates and Mark Boone (Sons of Anarchy), Jodi Lyn O’Keefe, John O’Hurley, Lyriq Bent, Omar Benson Miller and many more.

Each celebrity gets a turn at the podium to talk about why they should be selected above the others.
The speeches always turn out hilarious, especially John O’Hurley who was able to make fun of himself saying he gets many television shows cancelled including soap operas and Seinfeld. O’Hurley had everyone laughing indeed.

And let’s not forget John Salley who is consistently funny time and time again.

Hilarity always ensues with John Salley at the podium

Then the next day they have brunch before starting their engines. Off to the races!

They take at few pit stops including one at SickKids Hospital to meet first hand the kids that they are helping.

Then all participants end the night with a celebratory gala dinner at the Ritz Carlton.

The Rally for Kids stop after that was Nashville where many of the same group went to raise $550,000.

Celebrities that have been involved in Rally For Kids include Gene Simmons, Eva Longoria, Kurt Russell and Terrence Howard.

Overall it’s a great night, a different kind of charity event that gets lots of celebrities involved in a fun event raising money for pediatric cancer research, treatment and care unit at The Hospital for Sick Children.
