Last Friday, April 17th, 2015 it was a ton of fun as the the Pink Pearl Foundation hosted its 9th annual fundraising charity party “Black, White and a Touch of Pink” at the Airship 37 in the Distillery District.

CTV News Anchor Michelle Dubé was the emcee and we heard heartfelt, tear-jerking stories from young women who are battling cancer.

No child should have to deal with cancer but unfortunately cancer affects us all. That’s where Pink Pearl Foundation steps in, helping to alleviate the struggles of young women battling any type of cancer with wellness retreats, expert health information sessions, and in-hospital support packages.

Pink Pearl is a not-for-profit organization founded by Elise Gasbarrino. She was in her final year of university when she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in her early twenties.

The mood was bright and the vibe was fun at Touch of Pink in the two rooms of Airship 37.

There was a small but great silent auction where I spotted a Samsung Galaxy Note Edge and a Motorola Nexus 6. I was lucky to have the winning bid and win the Nexus 6 at a great deal – great to be able to make a contribution!

Guests who purchase tickets early were entered into a draw to win tickets to any destination that Porter Airlines flies.

It was a great evening and congrats to the committee for throwing a great charity bash in support of young women battling cancer.
