As we mentioned last month, Operanation is one of Toronto’s must-attend events of the year. I was part of the judging process where cocktails were sampled by featured mixologist Dave Mitton of The Harbord Room.

The two contending cocktails he introduced to us were the Seville Sour and the Fall Fiesta. The Seville Sour featured two Canadian whiskeys: Lot No. 40 and Pike Creek with a well-balanced flavour, not overpowering each other. The Fall Fiesta was equally as impressive with Lot 40 whisky, mixed with wine (yes, whisky+wine) and egg whites resulting in a colourful drink that is sure to be a crowd pleaser.

While the signature drink was selected to be Fall Fiesta (to a vote of 9-6), the good news is both cocktails will be available at Operanation.

You can expect the Four Seasons Centre to be decked out in bright neon accompanied by the dance-pop tunes of this year’s musical headliner, Yelle, so get ready for some of this:

So get your tickets and we’ll see you there!
