New York City’s visual artist was brought in to collaborate with Saks Fifth Avenue for a special event immersing invited guests in a black and white world of hands on interactive art on Nov 23rd, 2015. The event celebrated the upcoming arrival of Saks to Canada.

We didn’t know what to expect besides the strict dress code of black and white only but when we arrived at 28 District events at 28 Logan Avenue, it was quite a spectacle. Even the hors d’oeuvres were black and white.

What made the massive work of art even more interesting was that guests also got to be part of it, with Shantell Martin personally writing their names on the wall.

On top of all that guests also got to take home their own paper-sized Shantell Martin x Saks souvenir art.

A little birdie told us that this won’t be the last of the series of events leading up to the Saks Fifth Avenue launch in Canada. So stay tuned for more!

Saks Canada is set to open in February 2016 at the Hudsons Bay and Sherway Gardens.
