On May 25th, 2016 the 3rd annual Wonderful Women event took place at Casa Loma. Presented by Weizmann Canada’s Women and Science committee, it was a unique opportunity to celebrate, learn and network with an inspiring and accomplished panel of women.

This year’s panel includes award-winning author and musician Jann Arden, author and actress Mary Jo Eustace, business woman Carrie Kirkman and scientist Dr. Yifat Merbl from the Weizmann Institute of Science. The evening was moderated by journalist and TV personality, Dianne Buckner.

The evening started with a cocktail reception in the lobby of the grand Casa Loma.

The panel discuss challenges and triumphs they have experienced in their respective careers. Funds raised benefitted the Israel National Postdoctoral Award Program, which helps to create and maintain a balance of men and women at the highest levels of academia. The objective of the award, which includes a grant to the recipient, is to promote women in science, and to provide a strong role model to motivate and encourage the next generation of young female scientists.

Then guests were seated in the Glass Pavilion at Casa Loma’s garden for a discussion Q&A with the 4 panelists.

Following the panel discussion and Q&A was a dessert reception and book signing with Jann Arden.
