The 156th Queen’s Plate at the Woodbine Racetrack was definitely full of style, fun and good vibes especially at the Rethink Breast Cancer tent.
Absent the downpour of rain when I went to Queen’s Plate in the past, we couldn’t have asked for better weather. This time it was a beautiful sunny Sunday with blue skies on July 5th, 2015.
Guests who were lucky to buy a ticket to this VIP tent got the full treatment including manicures, makeup, fascinators for sale, amazing fashion portraits made on the spot, and so much more.
Women donned varying extremes of fascinators, and gentlemen wore light coloured suits. It was a great spectacle to see. Obviously selfies and photos on the photo wall were in abundance and maybe even a necessity for this special occasion.
No party is complete without drinks, of which there was a wide selection including caesars, Barefoot wine and food catered by Rancho Relaxo. Also there was gelato and scotch tastings.
Setting this event apart from others, it was particularly great that nothing was rushed. After guests were fully pampered, it was time to take seats in the stands for the main event.
The racing track is beautiful and so are the racing horses. In the end it was Shaman Ghost who took the commanding lead to win this year’s trophy.
Needless to say I had a blast at this top notch charity event and best of all $1 from every ticket purchase went to the Rethink Breast Cancer charity organization. Learn more about Rethink here.
Keep your calendars clear for next year’s Queen’s Plate and also Booby Ball in October (photos from Booby Ball 2014).
