Celebrating the era in which it was started back in 1953, the Mount Sinai Hospital Auxiliary held their “Celebrate 60” Birthday Bash gala last night, September 22nd, at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel. In 1922, four community-minded women united together to raise funds to purchase 100 Yorkville Avenue, the first home of Mount Sinai Hospital. Then in 1953, 60 years ago, Rose Torno formally founded the Mount Sinai Hospital Auxiliary and to this day the Auxiliary remains dedicated to philanthropic efforts to address the needs of the hospital.
