On Thursday, March 26th, 2015 it was a packed house at the Toronto Reference Library (Bram & Bluma Appel Salon) for SNAP! 2015.

Presented by the AIDS Committee of Toronto (ACT), SNAP! is a lively annual photography auction. Featuring both a silent and a live auction, the photographs are taken by both up-and-coming and established photographers.

Libraries serve as centres of discovery and communication as well as repositories of history, language, and culture. However, for the 10th Book Lovers Ball, the Toronto Public Library Foundation (TPLF) proved that they can be a pretty damn spectacular place to party as well.

It’s a special year for the Toronto Public Library. They will be celebrating the opening of the 100th branch and also hosting the 10th annual Book Lover’s Ball. This charity black-tie gala will feature a new format including live music, dancing and even one-on-one Scrabble games with some of your favourite authors all in a library/party setting.

So if you love books here’s your chance to celebrate as the literary world comes to life.
