Getting ready to greet the customers lined up outside

For a refreshed grocery shopping experience, Michael-Angelo’s in Markham is having their grand re-opening this weekend. With a lineup of customers outside waiting for the doors to open, I was there to check out the festivities on Friday, December 19th.

Set in the heart of Toronto’s entertainment district at Mercer St, Buonanotte is an Italian dining destination that combines a lively nightlife experience with great Italian dishes, perfect for sharing. I was among a few in an intimate setting who tried the new menu items at Buonanotte by Executive Chef Davide Ianacci and enjoyed some cocktails and fine wine.

Now open on popular Ossington Avenue is the highly anticipated Borealia Restaurant. It’s a warm, intimate setting which takes a unique approach in both the decor and the menu with inspiration from a time when immigrant groups arrived in Canada in the 18th and 19th centuries. It’s thoughtfully-Canadian cuisine like you’ve never tried before.

On November 20, I was fortunate to attend the food lover’s dream event – Air Canada‘s enRoute magazine‘s announcement of Canada’s best new restaurants for 2014. This gala brought together restaurants from coast to coast to the Gardiner Museum, where guests met the chefs and sampled some of their restaurant’s signature dishes.
