Terroir – the complete natural environment in which a particular wine is produced, including factors such as the soil, topography, and climate[1]…Fleur du Cap Chardonnay embodies its delicate and temperate terroir, echoing the splendor of nature. As a nod back to the late ’90s, the original King West hotspot, “WEST” is back – the one that started all the King West liveliness. So now in 2014 it’s thoughtfully re-imagined with a group of savvy owners including Glen Baxter to cater to the mature social scene in Toronto.

Like many of us these days, over-worked and stressed out, I’m always looking for natural therapeutic treatments that allow me to fully escape from a demanding lifestyle. A new and unique form of luxury spa service comes to Toronto that allows you to do just that…while floating on water. Recently opened at Broadview and Danforth, H2O Float Spa offers floatation therapy. Hoping to cure my worsening insomnia, I had the pleasure of experiencing a float session.

Centrally-located but tucked away just south of Yonge and King on Colborne Street, there’s the boutique Cosmopolitan Hotel. Inside just past the lobby where Eight Wine Bar used to be which is now the upscale Wildfire Steakhouse & Wine Bar with renovations making it a warm and inviting urban chic space. The venue offers options for corporate lunches, dinners, after-work drinks and intimate events.

A new resto-bar, SpeakEasy 21, opens in the heart of the Financial District. Located on the main floor of the Scotiabank Plaza right next to the Trump Hotel, the 4,000 square foot space offers a contemporary dining experience with relaxing casual vibes.

A launch event is the embodiment of what a brand is…and what a night it was last night for the presentation of Sharp Magazine’s “The Book For Men” Spring/Summer 2014 issue. The evening was truly a seamlessly executed celebration of the sophisticated urban gentleman, being fully immersed in Sharp Magazine’s motto of “LOOK BETTER. FEEL BETTER. KNOW MORE”.
