On Wednesday, October 1st the Neubacher Shor Contemporary art gallery on Queen West was the venue for Samsung’s “Galerie Alpha” party celebrating the launch of the Samsung GALAXY Alpha smartphone.

The event featured live musical entertainment by Yuna, Alvvays and also a bonus surprise musical act, Austra.

Recently opened in the Queen and Roncesvalles area, Mata Petisco Bar is run by of a team of 5 for the love of South American food.

Taking an old-fashioned elevator up to the 6th floor at the Burroughes building brought us into a lively charity party surrounded by 300 fashionably fabulous people in a fun and entertaining atmosphere complete with a DJ, photo booth, silent auction, casino and carnival games and premium bar. There was even a giveaway for a Vegas trip.

Terroir – the complete natural environment in which a particular wine is produced, including factors such as the soil, topography, and climate[1]…Fleur du Cap Chardonnay embodies its delicate and temperate terroir, echoing the splendor of nature. This 2012 award-winning South African white wine debuts at LCBO locations across Ontario this spring, and we had a taste of it at the iYellow Wine Cave.

The Queen West area and the Gladstone Hotel itself are known to be bustling with art exhibitions, events and live-music, and in that same spirit, the liveliness of the choices in this new menu also come out in that same fashion.

Queen West’s Filipino fusion restaurant, Lamesa Filipino Kitchen, recently made renovations to their space including a Tiki-style bar. I was lucky to be part of a group that was invited to sample their new menu including brunch, dinner and late-night menu items as well as cocktails from their new bartender.
