We kicked off both the Year of the Rooster and of Canada’s 150th birthday on Saturday January 28th at the annual Dragon Ball.

And we’re still taking about the evening of sensory overload.

The Gardiner Museum hosted the G Party Gala celebrating the 12 Trees exhibition on December 1, 2016. The exhibition was inspired by the theme “Good for the Earth” curated by internationally-renowned artist and environmentalist, David Buckland. The installations are made from natural, recycled, or sustainable materials which help focus attention to environmental concerns.

Fête Chinoise was created to bridge the gap between traditional customs and the modern way of celebration. In its second year, Fête Chinoise has already become a prominent event in the wedding and event planning community. According to Jimmy Yu, a committee member, it’s a “museum-like experience showcasing the traditions and celebrations of the overlooked culture of the modern Chinese”. On Saturday November 5th, the Mon Sheong Foundation marked its 25th Annual Cathay Ball enriching its guests and patrons with the charity and culture of their past endeavours in this year’s Peony Masquerade Ball. The second annual Fête Chinoise is happening on November 19th, at Shangri-La Hotel Toronto. The theme this year is the Modern Celebration. It will feature top Canadian talent in event design, fashion and beauty, photography and videography, music and entertainment, cake and stationery, and the art of lifestyle.
