Canada’s National Ballet School’s annual fundraising gala was held on March 4, 2016 where over 600 guests, dancers and friends of NBS were immersed in a fantastical world of steampunk.

I didn’t get a chance to stay long at this weekend’s FanExpo Canada – basically just in and out, but I was able to snap some cosplay photos of Deadpool, Ms Deadpool and Harley Quinn and a couple others.

As described in wikipedia, Steampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction that typically features steam-powered machinery, especially in a setting inspired by industrialized Western civilization during the 19th century, or a post apocalyptic environment. The 3rd Annual Stems of Hope gala boldly proclaimed to have an un-precedented event filled with amazement, entertainment and education.  Walking right in the decor of the retro superhero theme was a delight for guests both young and young-at-heart.
