I didn’t know what to expect but what was supposed to be a Second Cup frappe launch on May 11th turned out to be a fun, summer beach inspired event at the Second Cup at King and John St (the one with modernized Second Cup designs including gorgeous new cream and milk taps, marble and more).

On March 12th, 2015 Lacoste threw a luxe champagne party, presenting its new LT12 tennis racket to Toronto’s fashion crowd. The ‘Elegance is Victory’ event held at the 2nd Floor Events space on 461 King St. W was buzzing with music, appetizers and people, some of whom joined in the “joie de vivre” spirit by wearing the brand’s signature polos.

The new Barre3 exercise studio combines controlled pilates and yoga movements, concentrating on major muscle groups including legs, shoulders, arms, and core.

Initially a Portland, Oregon based studio, they opened the first Canadian location in Toronto a couple of months ago on the second floor at 325 King St. West (across from the TIFF Bell Lightbox).

On Monday, February 23rd, I attended the In the Land of Sea and Honey dinner, organized by Render Food Magazine in collaboration with our friends from Fat Girl Food Squad. Held at Beast in Toronto’s King West neighbourhood, the dinner aimed to celebrate food and the feminist culture. The stylish and happening 2nd Floor Events only opened in 2013, and has quickly become one of Toronto’s most popular event venues located above popular ping-pong venue SPIN at King West. Just last year, we were at 2nd Floor for several occasions, including The Tastemakers book launch, the inaugural Taste of Toronto preview, and the Open Wines Party. Now, 2nd Floor Events is taking it up to another level, with the launch of their own in-house catering service.

Blowfish Restaurant’s newest extension, cocktail and sake lounge BarFish (668 King St. W) opened its doors with a warm welcome. It’s easy to see why this latest addition to King West satisfies Toronto’s demand and trend for designer cocktails and Asian fusion tastes for the last decade.
