On a Saturday afternoon, we ventured out to the Southwest-end of Toronto and met with Bria Weaver, the owner of Food Nook Tours. She welcomed us into Roncesvalles (aka Roncy) the home of the Hairspray movie set and the world’s first hairless cat.

We were invited to an intimate dining experience at MoRoCo Chocolat for an evening of indulgence. Walking in, the décor is chic. If you’re unfamiliar with MoRoCo Chocolat, located in the heart of Yorkville, imagine stepping into an Alice in Wonderland world, filled with Victorian-styled chairs, dark velvet curtains, vintage teapots, silver deer and gnomes.

Back in 2008, I heard of this delectable blueberry scone that was revered as one of the city’s finest at The Drake Hotel. And indeed, the flaky-buttery treat lived up to expectations. This discovery lead me to its talented maker, Executive Pastry Chef David Chow.
