It’s already that time of year! The 2013 Luminato Festival starts this weekend and the Future Tastes of Toronto is one of the highlights taking place on June 15th and 16th in the Distillery District. As one of Luminato’s Education and Outreach projects, Future Tastes has connected with chefs, artists, communities and youths by coordinating workshops, chef-in-the-school visits, rehearsals and training sessions. All of this preparation ahead of the big ten-day festival. So the Kids’ Table at Luminato’s opening weekend…

After the Beaujolais Wine and BBQ luncheon, Nick and I headed to the Shangri-La Hotel for the media launch and preview of the 2nd annual Kampai Toronto Sake Festival being tomorrow on May 30th at the Fermenting Cellar in the Distillery District. “Kampai” which stands for cheers in English, is the largest sake festival in Canada. The event is hosted by The Sake Institute of Ontario which is a non-profit organization that brings together sake distributors and producers in Ontario…

Upon arrival at the Grand Foyer guests were greeted by models wearing Swarovski serving drinks. Other interesting highlights included the conveyor belt serving…

It’s a major fundraising event of grandiose celebrations for Toronto’s performing arts that brings over a thousand guests to fill three floors of the Four Season’s Centre for the Performing Arts, raising funds for the COC’s Ensemble Studio, the training program for aspiring young opera professionals. This year the Operanation…

This year continues the tradition of being the biggest St. Patrick’s Day party and it will be hard to dispute that with Budweiser on board and over 15,000 expected party goers in attendance over two full days of St. Party’s Day. It’s so big they’ve moved it to Ontario Place this year. There will be large heated tents, a bunch…

On Friday, February 8th, get immersed in a Great Gatsby themed-affair at the Arcadian Court featuring cocktails and swanky dining followed by a class-act Monte Carlo casino.  There will also be an exclusive ballet performance by the NBS’ talented students. “Because talent is the sole criterion for entry into NBS’ Professional Ballet Program, our annual fundraiser is crucial in generating awareness and securing support for our extraordinary students—of which almost 8 out of every 10 require funding.”, says Mavis Staines…
