Now that we’re deep in the hazy days of summer, there has been time to reflect upon the first half of the year in Toronto – in particular, on the city’s lively social scene. Between functions that fell flat, over-the-top galas that won’t be forgotten and fundraisers that generated important dollars, some events stood out from the rest.

The Design Exchange’s annual DX Intersection Gala is one of Toronto’s design events at a great venue taking place at the historic trading floor of the Toronto Stock Exchange.

The Art Gallery of Ontario held its highly anticipated annual fundraising event on Thursday April 21st, 2016 – AGO Midnight Massive. 

This sold-out event featured artistic performances, contemporary and interactive art installations, DJ’s, drinks, and hors d’oeuvres throughout the multiple levels of the AGO.

New York City’s visual artist was brought in to collaborate with Saks Fifth Avenue for a special event immersing invited guests in a black and white world of hands on interactive art on Nov 23rd, 2015. The event celebrated the upcoming arrival of Saks to Canada.

The North by Northeast (NXNE) festival is generally known for its music, but on this night art took centre stage. On June 18, Samsung Canada hosted the NXNE Art opening reception at the NXNE Art Lounge in Toronto’s entertainment district.
