I knew from the moment I sat down on the yellow school bus in the Rogers Centre parking lot and watched as a few guys ahead cracked open some cider, that this was the beginning of an awesome weekend ahead.
“It was like going to the best party I’ve ever been to” said one of the partygoers as he danced the night away to infectious beats while watching choreographed flames and lasers that expelled out of a rainbow coloured Bollywood palace, complete with lounging elephants and oxen structures, and a DJ at the throne.
This Civic Holiday weekend featured another solid lineup at this year’s VELD Music Festival 2015 with big acts like Steve Aoki, A$AP Rocky, Nicky Romero, Kaskade and the return of Deadmau5, as one of the producers alongside LiveNation and INK Entertainment.
While it was my 3rd year attending, it was great vibes all around again. Emphasis this year was on safety, taking breaks and plenty of free water available.

If you haven’t heard of IMG’s Taste Festival, it is known as the world’s greatest restaurant festival. It’s not your typical food festival that’s just a sampling event, it’s a gourmet food event where you’ll be able to try new creations from the city’s best chefs spanning 3 days. In addition, you’ll also get to sample wine, watch live food demonstrations, interact with the chefs, attend cooking classes, and enjoy live music and other entertainment.
