Guests gave in to their guilty pleasures at Power Ball XVIII: Pleasure Principle on Thursday, June 2nd at The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery with an explosion of art installations, performances, cocktails and culinary delights.
A breezy early summer evening brought us to the harbour front of Toronto. Docked at the bottom of Bay and Queens Quay, a modest sized ship dubbed the Showboat, one of the many ships of the award-winning Mariposa Cruises, was ready to set sail. We had the pleasure of boarding this vessel for it to take us along the perimeter of Toronto’s scenic Harbourfront and through the Island waterways.
Last weekend, I had the esteemed privilege of attending a rehearsal of the latest project by the critically acclaimed Arabesque Dance Company and Orchestra. Founded in 1992 in downtown Toronto, Arabesque features dance and music styles of the Middle East with contemporary twists. Titled SAWAH, meaning traveller or wanderer in Arabic, this latest dance and music production premieres on Thursday, April 10th at the Fleck Dance Theatre at Harbourfront Centre.
