This event brought together some of Toronto’s acclaimed chefs and rising stars of Toronto’s restaurant scene, allowing guests to sample over 50 dishes from their respective restaurants.
With the summer already half way through, and you’re left to wonder what else to do in the city, why not take advantage of the warm weather and head outdoors to High Park for some theatre action. Shakespeare in High Park returned this summer with a double-bill, As You Like It and Titus Andronicus at the High Park Amphitheatre (1873 Bloor St. W.).
Located in the charming neighbourhood of Little Italy, YamChops (705 College Street) is a new option for those who wish to incorporate more veggie fares in their routine. Hailed as a vegetarian butcher shop (quite the intriguing oxymoron), this new eatery promotes plant-based proteins to be a staple of any kitchen or diet.

Rhythmic beats reverberated continuously across the acres of fields at Downsview Park over the course of two days at a mega music festival known as VELD. For EDM fans across the region, VELD requires no introduction. INK Entertainment delivered another stellar production of sound, lights, and pyrotechnics headlined by some of the hottest names in EDM today.
On our first night in downtown Stratford ahead of the Savour Stratford culinary food festival, we decided to visit Mercer Hall Restaurant for dinner.
The charming space, which also doubles as an inn on the second floor, carried a slight air of confidence with its high ceilings and glittering chandeliers, all the while maintaining a welcoming demeanour; case in point, the cozy banquettes that lined the walls and the warm chocolate brown glass case which stocked the restaurant’s wines.
On Thursday, Friday & Saturday from 5:00pm-7:00pm, there is a prix fixe offer of either 2 Courses: $48 or 3 Courses : $54. We opted for 3 courses each.
On July 8th, I attended an exclusive opening of one of Toronto’s most sought-after hotspots: the Thompson Toronto Hotel’s rooftop – for their summer season rooftop opening launch.
High flying Rock’n;Horse Saloon is the talk of downtown these days when it comes to casual summer patio parties. And does it ever show with lines out the door and on to the sidewalk weekdays and weekends filling this country-themed bar to the brim. Thankfully, they’ve just expanded with a similarly themed roof top patio, The Porch.
That was quite a grand show on July 19th at the Rogers Centre for the Jay-Z & Beyonce “On the Run” Tour that spanned cities in North America (even Winnipeg just last Sunday and also France).
I had already seen Jay-Z in Toronto with Kanye West on the Watch the Throne tour and then Jay-Z with Justin Timberlake on the Legends of the Summer tour. I also had the opportunity to see Beyonce’s solo show last year as well.
So I wasn’t planning to go but when you get an invite for the first Canadian taste of Jay-Z’s favourite cognac that is yet to be released at this sold-out show, you obviously can’t say no.
Last night, Candice Chan and Alison Slight of Candice & Alison Events Group hosted their 5th anniversary bash with their partners, clients and a couple hundred of their closest friends at the ever-gorgeous Malaparte venue at the top of the TIFF Bell Lightbox.

The Civic Holiday long weekend in August is reserved for many things: hitting up the cottage or some patio weather, enjoying a relaxing Game of Thrones marathon, catching up with friends and family or simply just catching up on sleep. For others, the highlight is VELD, boasting to be Canada’s largest electronic music festival.
Last week on July 16th, Toronto’s fashionable men’s clothier, GotStyle hosted a swanky, exclusive party to kick off this past weekend’s Honda Indy 2014.
The featured guest of the evening was two-time Grand Prix car racer, Simon Pagenaud, although I didn’t personally see him (sorry!).
But regardless it was a great fashionable evening out sipping Grey Goose Cherry Noir racing-inspired cocktails with light French canapés.
