Last night guests dressed their best at the annual invite-only Toronto Life “Most Stylish” party to celebrate TIFF opening night in style. Official sponsor for TIFF, clothing line EXPRESS hosted a private affair to showcase some of their holiday collection at Parlour (270 Adelaide St. W.) on Aug. 27th. Definitely some chic stunners for men and women attending TIFF parties. There was a vast amount of clothing from the line to choose from, and we were so inspired we styled one look that was our absolute fave.

I didn’t get a chance to stay long at this weekend’s FanExpo Canada – basically just in and out, but I was able to snap some cosplay photos of Deadpool, Ms Deadpool and Harley Quinn and a couple others.
Thanks to Makenzie Smith (Harley Quinn) and Chris Guidotti (Deadpool) for making my quick trip interesting.

The death of legendary Canadian artist, Alex Colville, last summer was a moment to mourn, but it was important for Andrew Hunter, curator of Canadian art at the AGO, that he and his team did not close the book. It was an absolute dream to drive a 2014 Audi S5 Cabriolet in blazing red. Usually I wouldn’t want red for being too showy but this car certainly warrants the attention. It’s a sporty yet very refined convertible with a supercharged engine producing a whopping 333 hp with only 3.0L of displacement. Audi boasts that this is V8 power with the efficiency of a V6 engine.
For Chef Nick Liu, opening his new restaurant has been a journey more than two years in the making. Teaming up with sommelier Anton Potvin, and husband-and-wife team, Dave Dattels and Jen Grant, Liu’s restaurant has finally come to fruition. On August 7th DaiLo opened its doors, and we were there for a first look.
At every turn, you’re greeted with an abundance of smiles, waves, and hellos. Is this some far away land? No, it isn’t Oz per say, but rather 1 ½ hours just southwest of Toronto. And, no, there is no ulterior motive to their welcoming exchange; they’re not trying to get you to buy or sign up for something, this is just the town of Stratford’s natural demeanour. The folks here are just so darned friendly! It also doesn’t hurt when the city is a thriving mecca for fantastical culinary eats.
It’s a wrap! The first-ever TOM* (Toronto Men’s Fashion Week) closed it’s runways Thursday, August 14th, at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel.
