The 28th annual Teddy Bear Affair in support of Children’s Aid Foundation was a night of ‘la dolce vita’. The Metro Toronto Convention Centre was transformed into a splendid Italian piazza, adorned in a panorama of Italian decadence and elegance.

Just before TIFF, America Restaurant opened in the heart of Toronto’s financial district, halfway up the Trump Hotel Toronto on the 31st floor. Formerly Stock Restaurant, it was reborn through the partnership of INK Entertainment and Oliver & Bonancini Restaurants, undergoing a complete transformation in less than two weeks. On Thursday, November 6th, we were invited to discover the tastes that America had to offer.

On November 5th, 2014 The Stop Community Food Centre held their 10th annual signature fundraising event called What’s on the Table at Daniels Spectrum.  It’s their signature fundraising event with a focus on great food from top local chefs and restaurants.

After John and I attended the preview menu tasting at Montecito, we were commissioned to do photography for the menu, cocktails and the beautiful venue itself.

On the evening of Saturday, Oct 25th, the Heart of Fashion charity gala was one last bang to end this season’s Fashion Week. Taking place at the Town Square at Shops at Don Mills, premium designers and brands were showcased on the runway in a large heated tent.

On October 29th, we were fortunate to attend an intimate bourbon tasting, featuring a selection of Jim Beam bourbons. And what better place to have this tasting than at Aft Kitchen & Bar, a neighbourhood restaurant in Queen East specializing in classic comfort food.

TIFF‘s annual fundraising event, BOOMBOX, once again brings awareness to major exhibition’s opening. Last year, the exhibition was in celebration of the work of Canadian David Cronenberg. This year, it’s an exhibition dedicated to the creative genius and film legacy of Stanley Kubrick.

It was quite a day on October 21st in the midst of fashion week. Jo-Anna and I checked out some fashion week shows during the day including the awesome “Viva La Juicy” Juicy Couture brunch and the Minnie Mouse fashion event.

At the exclusive launch party for Dog Tales Rescue & Sanctuary, friends, family and TV personalities attended the preview of the new one-of-a-kind dog and horse sanctuary in King City. “You Were Meant For Me” singer Jewel came to perform for the special occasion in animal welfare.

It’s that time of year again where TIFF kicks off another highly-anticipated signature exhibition with a special filmmaker. For this year’s occasion, TIFF programming takes us into the mind of Stanley Kubrick.

The 19th edition of Eat to the Beat – held on October 21st at Roy Thompson Hall – had extra significance this year, as Willow Breast & Hereditary Cancer Support was also celebrating its 20th birthday. Eat to the Beat is an important fundraising and awareness event for Willow, having raised more than $3.5 million in the past twenty years.

The first edition of Love Food Fest was definitely a memorable one! Food lovers and charitable donors descended on Artscape Wychwood Barns on October 7, 2014 for Toronto’s newest food event. Love Food Fest is part of the Love Food Give Food campaign running all October-long for Action Against Hunger – an international humanitarian organization dedicated to ending world hunger, with special focus on children under five.
