LobstahPalooza 2015 is almost upon us! This is the third time Matt Dean Pettit – chef and co-owner of Rock Lobster Food Co restaurants and Matty’s Seafood Brands is holding this event. This year kicked off for the first time ever “The Night is Yonge Busker Soiree” on August 19th, 2015 to start off Toronto International Buskerfest for Epilepsy Toronto at the exquisite Aperture Room in the heart of downtown Toronto. The night was led by Honorary Chair Tristan Thompson, a Toronto Native and NBA Player for the Cleveland Cavaliers and hosted by Reporter Andria Case from CTV News. There were special guest appearances made by Michael “Pinball” Clemons from the Toronto Argonauts, Mayor John Tory, Nav Bhatia, Kristyn Wong-Tam and many others.
On the east end of Toronto lies the area known as the “Upper Beaches”. As a nice and easily-accessible escape from downtown, it’s a cozy, calm neighbourhood featuring many boutique shops that are owner-operated.
On our Upper Beaches tour (or as we affectionately called, a “safari”) we visited a few of these shops and met the local business owners as well as a new upcoming condo development that will overlook the gorgeous, luscious green Glen Stewart Ravine (as pictured above).
TOMFW SS16 Kicks off with a bang at Audi Downtown Toronto on Monday August 17th. What drives a man? A well-designed car and well designed clothes. Entering it’s 3rd season, Toronto Men’s Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2016 kicked off with an opening night party at Audi Downtown Toronto. Male models, bottles and open throttle for this season. Drinks, music, food and a taste of this season’s collection were on display on TOM* models all throughout the night. Sponsored by Audi, World Financial Group, Trump Residences Toronto, Apex Sound & Light Corporation, W Studio, WINMAR Toronto and GQ Hair Studio, the corporate and fashion industry elites were well represented at this event. Jeff Rustia, the Founder and Executive Director of Toronto Men’s Fashion Week, Michaelangelo Masangkay, the Director of Operations, and Paul Mason, the face of TOM* made an appearance at the event. Toronto Men’s Fashion Week is dedicated to Canadian designed menswear and the fashion community in Canada. It also supports local charities. Yes, if you didn’t already suspect it, I am alluding to some of the outrageously glorious foods at the CNE this year. It is one of the few places I know whose food conjure equal amounts of disgust and intrigue from.
So, throw caution to the wind (or arm yourself with an antacid), give in and try something you’ll undoubtedly tell your friends about.
As your willing guinea-pig, I sampled and devoured all the fare on offer with my thoughts.
